Jennifer and Larry Maayan have been members of YIOZ for the past three years. Jennifer was co-chair of the Youth Committee, who, together with co-chair, Shoshana Winter, reintroduced youth programming to the shul after a hiatus of several years. Jennifer is Assistant General Counxel at White & Case LLP, serving as in-house counsel to the firm. She is also a memeber of the Professional and Judicial Ethics Committee of the Bar of the City of New York and an adjunct member of the Professional Respnsibility of the same. She also lectures frequently on professional ethics.

Larry who serves as a trustee on the YIOZ Board is a child psychiatrist and is Board certified in both General Psychiatry and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is the Director of Outpatient Research at the Nathan Kline Instititue and is a faculty member of the NYU School of Medicine. His research focuses on obesity in children taking antipsychotic medications. Larry also has a private practice in Greenwich, CT.

They have 5 children -- Avigail, age 9, a fourth grader at SAR; Leah, age 7, a second grader at SAR; Michal, age 5, a kindergartener at SAR, Yossi, age 2 and Chaya, age 9 months.
